Position: Freight Coordinator - Cross Trade
Location: Chelmsford
Salary: Up to 32,000
Hours: Mon - Fri 9am - 17:30pm (Hybrid available)
Our client is a well-established freight forwarding and general haulage specialist, leading the way in international logistics, transportation and freight forwarding.
Due to a recent internal promotion, we are now hiring an experienced Freight Coordinator to join our cross-trade department. We are looking to speak with individuals who have hands-on experience managing cross-trade shipments.
Cross Trade Coordinator Role:
The Cross Trade Coordinator is responsible for ensuring efficient handling, end to end, of a shipment from receipt of booking through to delivery at destination.
Cross Trade Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Arranging shipment bookings with carriers and overseas agents;
- Liaise between Suppliers, Forwarders and overseas agents to obtain up to date shipment information;
- Ensure customers are fully informed of the progress of their shipments;
- Obtain and communicate, internally and externally, all necessary information to ensure correct measures are in place and customer needs are met;
- Maintain all files ensuring they are costed, billed and invoiced correctly in accordance with procedures provided by management;
- Maintain up to date records of overseas parties and suppliers;
- Ensure that any possible freight claims are dealt with in a timely manner in line with Company procedures;
- Arrange cargo insurance certificates;
- Ensure correct documentation is on file and act accordingly as set out in the instructions;
- Handling of any letters of credit / legalised documentation as and when required; and
- Any other duties as required by management for the smooth and efficient operation of the department.
