Freight Forwarder

We are seeking experienced Road Freight Operations staff for an International Freight Forwarding company, with many offices across Europe.

This particular office in Dover is their UK head office, a small office of 11 staff currently but with ambitious growth plans. They have been established for a few years now, and have become known as a quality Freight Forwarder offering services across the UK and Europe.

They are ready for growth and they are looking for someone who can start in Operations, prove themselves and take on the role of Freight Operations Lead / Operations Manager in the next couple of years.

They predominantly work in UK & European Road Freight, particularly full loads, import and export.

Ideally you will have at least 3 years' experience in Freight Forwarding, ideally this will be Euoprean Road Freight, and you will be customer-facing, with extensive documentation experience and customs knowledge.

Office-based Monday to Friday in Dover - 8am - 5pm with 1 hour for lunch.

25 - 32k depending on experience, with salary increases as role grows.

We are re-advertising following some applications that didn't meet the requirements, so please note you MUST have a minimum of 1 year of Road Freight Operations experience with a UK-based Freight Forwarding company as Operations Clerk, Import Operator, Export Operator or Freight Forwarder or similar.

You will have experience of:

Import and Export European Road Freight

Air & Ocean Freight experience also ideal (but not essential)

Helpful to have Customs Clearance experience (but not essential)

Managing customers day to day (Freight Account Manager)

Supporting sales staff with quotations and processing bookings etc.

Quoting customers

Negotiating / dealing with subcontractors

Processing bookings from cradle to grave

Customer service

Upselling

Supporting sales staff with quotations / bookings etc

Ensuring documentation for customs are in order and processed including commercial invoicing, Packing list, Certificate of Origin
