We are looking for a Front of House Assistantto work with the Carmarthenshire County Council. This role is to act as a point of welcome to theaters and provide a friendly, welcoming, professional, efficient customer service to all customers.

Role: Front of House Assistant

Location: Lyric Theatre, 8 King St, Carmarthen SA31 1BD, United Kingdom

Pay rate: £11.59 per hour

Shift pattern: Average of two shifts a week but some weeks differ, for example in feb we have a week with nothing but the week after its four shifts.

Responsibilities:

• Welcoming patrons to the theater, checking tickets, and directing them to their seats.
• Providing general information, handling queries and any enquiries from customers
• Sitting in the auditorium during performances in order to monitor the customer experience and ensure the safety and comfort of audiences.
• To operate kiosk and bar sales points and sell theater programmes, merchandise, sweets, ice cream, beverages and snacks; to abide by and enforce appropriate licensing regulations. To be knowledgeable of the products that the bar and kiosk serve.
• To correctly operate the bar and kiosk's cash registers and PDQ machines; to be proactive in bar and kiosk sales to ensure maximum profitability. Securely handling cash and card payments, taking the appropriate care and accuracy for transactions through the tills during sales periods.
• To be aware of the fire evacuation and Health & Safety requirements and report any problems to the Duty Manager. Being prepared for any incidents and emergencies, and in the case of an emergency undertaking an active role in evacuation duties.
• Assist with the setting up, operating and clearing away of furniture, tableware, food and beverages for functions and events.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Previous cash handling experience
• Experience in a sales or customer service related environment
• Experience of dealing with customers
• Knowledge of Customer Care principles
• A knowledge of Health and Safety

Desirable requirements:

• Experience of working in an arts venue
• Experience of working in the bar or hospitality sector
• Experience of using an EPOS system
• Full Driving License
