Receivables comprises four closely linked operational teams: Financial Transactions Support Group ("FTSG"), Collections, Inter-territory Receivables & Cash Allocations. Our 40+ strong team is based across Birmingham, Southampton, Belfast and London, working with the Delivery Centre in Poland.
The FTSG team provides essential financial transaction support to client engagement teams across the Deals and Consulting lines of service. The range of services delivered by the team includes billing, job code creation, reporting, time & expense transfers. Strong communication and relationships play a vital role in delivery of these services.

You'll be self motivated and work with minimum supervision - leading, coaching and delegating as appropriate within your team to ensure service delivery excellence within an SLA driven environment.
About the role:
Reporting to the FTSG Manager, you'll have day to day oversight of the FTSG Transaction Delivery team. You'll provide overview and support to a team of Associates, each with their own assigned portfolios of work across Deals and Consulting. Ensuring the quality of transactional delivery undertaken by the team, in line with firm policies and procedures and defined service level agreements.
You'll be a role model, playing a pivotal part in leading and inspiring your team to achieve operational success, whilst delivering a value added service to our internal stakeholders.
Routine activities & responsibilities include:
- Provide day to day operational oversight of the team, driving high quality output and achievement of targets & KPIs and reporting to Finance Business Partnering on performance and activity
- Point of escalation for the team - drawing on your expertise and experience to help expedite resolution of tasks
- Dedicated expert and trusted advisor for business stakeholders in relation to all financial transaction related matters
- Support FTSG manager in delivery of projects and initiatives aimed at continually improving service delivery
- Identify synergies between teams and services delivered across Receivables and highlight opportunities for process improvement / enhancement
- Training & coaching of new and existing team members; Ensure strict adherence to the firm's risk and quality standards
- Monitor staff performance through one-to-ones, coaching, assessment and feedback
- Support the FTSG manager with recruitment and resource planning
- Take personal responsibility for your digital & technical upskilling; Engage with firmwide and local learning opportunities and champion continuous advancement
Essential skills & experience:
- Experience of delivering high quality finance support, preferably in a professional services (or similar) environment
- Good financial awareness and numerical skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written forms
- Effective collaborator with the ability to adapt communication style to meet the needs of the situation and audience
- Self-motivated with ability to manage multiple commitments and prioritise effectively

Desirable skills & experience:
- Experience of having led or supervised people
- Broader knowledge of other finance functions (e.g. Payables, Collections, Finance Business Partnering / management accounting)
- Studying towards a relevant finance based qualification would be an advantage
- Process mapping and / or process improvement
- Recruitment experience - candidate vetting and interviewing
