Overview:
Full Stack Developer

Reporting to:
Senior Full Stack Developer
Managing: None at present

MISSION Made is a Digital Production & Development Studio that provides services to businesses within The MISSION Group; a collective of creative marketing agencies across UK, Europe, North America and South East Asia. Our main capabilities are UX/design, development, SEO, video production, technology innovation and project management.

Role:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

  • Deliver a range of web development projects including websites, content management systems, web applications, integrations and bespoke product builds
  • Implement both server-side and client-side architecture using systems and frameworks such as Laravel, WordPress, Drupal, Vue, and React.js
  • Design, implement, and document RESTful APIs
  • Help to manage DevOps responsibilities, including:
    • The use of Lando and Docker for container management
    • Database administration and hosting duties on platforms like Digital Ocean and Cloudways
    • Knowledge of Atlassian tools would be beneficial but is not mandatory
  • Collaborate with project managers, UX/UI designers, other developers, and key stakeholders to ensure high-quality deliverables
  • Provide recommendations for the most suitable way of delivering development projects and technical solutions
  • Provide robust and accurate estimates. Be able to fully understand, interrogate and follow job briefs. Deliver briefed jobs on time, to estimate and specification
  • Develop reliable and maintainable code, ensuring that all new features meet predefined requirements and function correctly
  • Keep up to date with the latest applications of AI in Development, including bespoke GPTs, prompt engineering and utilising tools such as Github Copilot Workspace
  • Write and maintain technical documentation

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Essential skills
  • 3+ years experience as a Full Stack Developer
  • Strong experience with PHP, Laravel and WordPress; proficiency in developing and maintaining complex web applications
  • Proficiency in fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks and environments such as Vue with Nuxt, React.js with Next and Node.js
  • Experience with modern build tools, such as Webpack and Vite
  • Experience with GIT or similar version control systems
  • Experience and understanding of containerisation technologies, specifically Lando and Docker
  • Experience with DevOps responsibilities, including hosting duties on platforms such as Digital Ocean and Cloudways
  • Excellent debugging skills, including familiarity with tools like Sentry for monitoring application performance and errors
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong organisational and project management capabilities
  • An understanding of security and data protection measures

Desirable skills
  • Experience with headless CMS architectures and their applications
  • Knowledge of Drupal is considered a plus, and training will be provided if needed
  • Knowledge of Atlassian tools, including Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket
  • Knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices
  • Interest and curiosity in other languages, such as Python and Ruby
  • Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another relevant field is preferred but not required
