Job Summary: We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Functional and Automation Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manual functional testing, as well as expertise in developing and executing automation test scripts using industry-standard testing tools. The Functional and Automation Tester will be responsible for ensuring that all software applications and systems meet the established quality standards and functional requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough manual functional testing of software applications to ensure that they meet the specified requirements and quality standards
- Create detailed test cases, test plans, and other testing documentation
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand the requirements and functionalities of the software being tested
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using industry-standard testing tools, such as Selenium, JUnit, or similar tools
- Execute automated tests regularly and analyze the test results for any discrepancies or issues
- Identify, log, and track defects using appropriate defect tracking tools and follow up on bug fixes with the development team
- Participate in requirement and design reviews to ensure testability and identify potential areas for automation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that testing activities are aligned with project schedules and deadlines
- Continuously update and improve testing processes, methodologies, and test scripts to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the testing activities
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends and best practices in Functional and Automation testing
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Functional and Automation Tester or similar role
- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices
- Proficiency in developing and executing automation test scripts using industry-standard testing tools, such as Selenium, JUnit, or similar tools
- Hands-on experience with defect tracking tools, such as JIRA or Bugzilla
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in software testing, such as ISTQB or similar certifications
- Experience with agile software development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban
- Knowledge of programming languages, such as Java or Python
- Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment tools, such as Jenkins or Bamboo
