Role Overview:
Join our team as a Functional Skills Tutor, where you'll play a vital role in empowering learners to achieve their goals. Reporting to the S2A Manager, you'll manage a caseload of learners, delivering Maths, English, and Employability sessions up to Level 2, with a primary focus on Functional Skills Maths.
Responsibilities:
Operational:
- Manage a caseload of NEET learners, ensuring compliance with teaching, learning, and outcome targets.
- Develop and deliver sessions in Functional Skills Maths, English, and Employability.
- Conduct induction, initial assessments, and reviews, providing constructive feedback.
- Foster relationships with employers, Job Centre Plus, and relevant agencies.
- Provide guidance and support to learners for sustainable employment or further education.
- Maintain accurate records of learner progress and achievements.
Quality:
- Contribute to meetings to share best practices and ensure compliance with standards.
- Deliver training in line with Government contracts, OFSTED standards, and quality guidelines.
People Management:
- Support and manage volunteers in accordance with established guidelines.
Key Result Areas:
- Achieve targets for outcomes, retention, attendance, and qualification success.
- Meet targets for OFSTED inspection.

Person Specification:
Required:
- Strong interpersonal skills for managing diverse relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet usage.
- Knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable individuals.
Experience:
- Working to tight deadlines and targets.
- Experience with NEETs or in recruitment/education/employment.
- Understanding of OFSTED requirements and Functional Skills delivery.
Qualifications:
- English and/or Mathematics qualification at Level 2 or above.
- Teaching qualification preferred.
- First Aid, Health and Safety, or other relevant qualifications desirable.
