Job description

At Harrogate Homeless Project (HHP), our vision is that nobody in the Harrogate District has to sleep rough. Each year we offer hundreds of people a safe place to stay and the support they need to build confidence and move towards independent living. 

This role is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual who wants to make a significant impact to the community. As the Fundraising & Marketing Manager, you will play a crucial part in driving the Fundraising and marketing efforts for Harrogate Homeless Project. Your primary objectives will be to raise awareness of our cause, refocus and build our fundraising through partnership-building with Corporates, promote our work, and secure funding to sustain and expand our services. 

Position:Fundraising and Marketing Manager

Reporting to: CEO

Hours: 37.5 hours a week, 9am-5pm

Salary: £30-£35,000 per annum

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and Implement Marketing Strategies

  • Create and execute Fundraising and Marketing plans to promote HHP’s services, events and campaigns.
  • Utilise various channels, including social media, website, email marketing, and traditional media, to reach the target audience effectively.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather stories, testimonials, and data to create compelling marketing materials.

Fundraising and Donor Management

  • Identify and pursue diverse funding opportunities, including grants, corporate sponsorships, individual donors, community partnerships, clubs associations and churches.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and potential corporate donors, ensuing timely acknowledgments and regular communication.
  • Develop and implement fundraising campaigns and events to maximize revenue generation.

Brand Management

  • Ensure consistent representation of HHP’s brand in all marketing materials and communication.
  • Develop and maintain brand guidelines.
  • Act as a spokesperson for HHP when required, representing the organisation positively in the media and public events.
  • Cultivate relationships with local media outlets and seek opportunities for press coverage.

Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Monitor and analyse the performance of Fundraising and marketing activities, providing regular reports and insights to the management team
  • Utilise data to optimise strategies and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs)

Team Leadership and Collaboration

  • Manage and lead a small team of staff.
  • Work with the senior team to gather regular feedback/ideas from service users that are relevant and add value to fundraising messages to ensure that their voice is heard, and they have input in development of fundraising messages.
  • To own, using the Donorfy system, the responsibility for stewardship of supporters and increasing the acquisition, retention and development of supporters, ensuring all activities and relationships are tracked consistently with effective use of Donorfy.
  • Work effectively across the organisations supporting colleagues and keeping abreast of developments in services

 

Person Specification

Essential

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (or significant equivalent proven experience).
  • Empathy and understanding of issues faced by vulnerable and homeless people
  • Understanding of social media, digital marketing and PR strategies
  • Proven experience of Fundraising and marketing with the corporate sector
  • Demonstrated success in securing funding and managing donor relationships
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to connect with diverse audiences
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team, creating a collaborative and supportive work environment
  • Self-motivated, proactive and creative with a passion for fundraising through building partnerships
  • Valid Driving Licence

Desirable

  • Knowledge and experience of working in a charity fundraising environment
  • Understanding of homelessness and rough sleeping
  • Experience of developing a fundraising strategy
  • Experience of managing staff
