Job description

Do you want to play a key role in major donor networking and giving. You will build and cultivate relationships with current and new philanthropists, delivering a strong, personalised stewardship programme. There will also be a focus on organising and delivering high net worth events alongside our Philanthropy Forum of charity Ambassadors.

You will be part of the fundraising team bringing in vital funds to keep our helicopter flying and saving lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish, manage and maintain strong relationships with prospective, new, current and past major philanthropists’ portfolio;
  • Deliver complex information into a compelling case for support for the lay person in both verbal and written form;
  • Directly support the Philanthropy Forum chair, and any future Fundraising Committees, in prospecting, researching and meeting with prospective major donors, also providing guidance on stewardship during and post major donations.
  • Formulate personalised stewardship plans and establish effective systems to collate information about prospective and current major donors;
  • Report to line manager on major donor strategy, budget, process, pipelines and prospect pools to plan ongoing and longer-term, single and multi-year major gifts.
  • Attend prospecting and stewardship meetings with potential and existing major donors.
  • Conduct major donor engagement and prospecting / cultivations events to promote the cause and secure major donors to meet the strategic need.
  • Supporting Ambassador and Volunteer groups, such as Philanthropy Forum and London Committee with event management to deliver a programme of high net worth events throughout the year.

The postholder will be based at our Charity Headquarters in Newquay, although some travel will be required.

Hours : 37.5 per week. The post holder will need to have the flexibility to attend meetings / events outside normal working hours.
