At Butler Landscapes in Shropshire, we are looking for a Maintenance Gardener Team Leader to join our vibrant team.


Maintenance Gardener Team Leader
Shropshire, TF9 3PX

  • Monday to Friday with overtime available, permanent
  • £27,000 - £33,000 dependent on experience and recognised qualifications

The Role:

We need a Maintenance Gardener Team leader who wants to work for a multi award winning company that wins RHS gold medals for clients like John Lewis, recreates RHS Chelsea award-winning show gardens and delivers many luxurious spaces for people to feel inspired by.

Working predominantly in a two plus colleague team you will be an exceptional Landscape gardener who is committed to delivering a quality horticultural service to our clients.

Horticultural Responsibilities:

  • All aspects of horticulture, specialised and more general
  • All aspects of lawn care
  • Chemical applications and record keeping (PA1 & PA6 preferable but not essential) -
  • subject to training and supervision as required.
  • Ground clearance and seasonal work
  • Sweeping and maintenance of hard surfaces/ furniture within the gardens
  • Tending to beds, borders and containers
  • Specialised pruning and trimmimg
  • Maintenance/cleaning of water features and day to day maintenance of irrigation
  • systems.
  • Safe operation of machinery subject to training
  • Cleaning of guttering and grids


A Bit About You:

You will have a keen eye for detail and have experience in horticulture. You will work well with others, be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and always have a friendly and approachable manner. You will be flexible, hardworking and enjoy the challenge that comes with working in a rapidly growing company. You will happily undertake general labouring tasks in support of the business and your team members. This role is perfect for someone who meets the following:

Additional requirements:

  • Recognised horticultural qualification
  • Full clean UK driving license
  • CSCS card
  • Competency in using power tools
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Certificates in spraying (PA1 PA6) and Ride on Mowers, while advantageous, are not essential.
