A vacancy has arisen in the Council’s Streetscene Service for a Gardener/Groundsperson within the Grounds Maintenance Team.
The postholder will assist with a range horticultural and landscape construction and maintenance duties in parks, open spaces, playing fields and fine turf areas.
The successful applicant will carry out skilled horticultural operations, including the maintenance and planting of trees, shrubs and hedge cutting as well as daily use and routine care of all vehicles and powered plant/equipment such as mowers and strimmers.
To be successful you will need:
- Knowledge and experience of routine grounds maintenance practices.
- Knowledge and experience in the use of light powered horticultural plant.
- Knowledge and experience in the use of self-propelled ride on mowing equipment.
- Ability to sustain high levels of physical output over prolonged periods.
- Experience of team working.
- Experience of working to pre-targeted work schedules and to tight deadlines.
- Full current clean Driving Licence with licence category groups B (B +E desirable).
The successful applicant must be prepared to work at any of the Council’s establishments as may be required.
