What to Expect…

Say farewell to the monotony of an indoor desk job! As a Repair Team Leader Apprentice, you'll thrive on the excitement of working outdoor in a manual role where you play a part in keeping the gas flowing every minute of your day. During the 2-year apprenticeship you will embark on a dynamic journey where 80% of your time will be working in the field embracing your passion for hands-on manual work! You'll be mentored by an experienced engineers who will train you in every part of the job, from digging down to repair gas escapes to working in deep excavations alongside replacing pipework, and isolating gas mains, among many other skills.

The remaining 20% will immerse you in our own cutting-edge training centres, strategically located in the north and south of the country. Here, you'll join forces with fellow apprentices, guided by our exceptional trainers—the cream of the crop with years of field experience who have now dedicated themselves to shaping the next generation. During your apprenticeship you will have 1-week block training weeks over the two years, with a focus on intensive training during the initial 6 months. Upon joining, you'll receive a comprehensive training plan with dates when you will be away - worry not though—full accommodation, travel reimbursement, and meal allowance will be provided if you find yourself away from home.

Once qualified and successfully completing the apprenticeship, a role is guaranteed with us! Take charge of a two-person Repair Team, responding to gas escapes, working on deep excavations, isolating gas mains, and ensuring the safety of our communities.

This immersive apprenticeship is designed to transform you into a competent member of our Fieldforce. Whether you're working on busy city roads or in peaceful fields, each day presents an exciting challenge, providing you with invaluable experience for a flourishing Fieldforce career.
