ID Support - Support Worker for D
We have an opportunity for someone to join our team to support a young person who lives in the Wardley area of Gateshead.
D is 17 years old and lives with his parents. He has learning disabilities and Autism which means he has difficulties in communicating and interacting with others, especially people he does not know. He does use picture to speech technology to facilitate communication and decision making and continues to develop these skills.
. He would like to be supported by people who are positive and upbeat.
D attends college each weekday and would like support at home on a Tuesday and Thursday evening to enable his parents a break from their caring role.
D does require some support with personal care.
He will be supported by two staff.
The shift time would be 18-22 on a Tuesday and Thursday.
