Residential Support Worker - £14 per hour - DRIVERS ONLY APPLY

This is an exciting opportunity to join a new, bespoke, Children’s home at the ground level, growing alongside a company that aims to cement itself as a leading provider of Children’s services.

We are building a team specialised to our young people, ensuring the best possible outcomes. As part of this, a bespoke service has been built to suit their needs and to help feel like home. We have an outstanding team of senior management who have experience in starting Children’s services before, so you will be in safe hands!

We are looking for experienced staff who have worked with children who have Learning Disabilities, additional needs and challenging behaviours. The young person is not able to live with other children due to their complexity, because of this you will need to be personable, patient and confident in working with the individual. You will be part of a large staffing team, with the potential of the young person needing up to four staff members with them at once.

The house is newly renovated and located in the Kenton area of Newcastle, there is plenty of space for activities, as well as a staff office/room to complete necessary documentation, as well as a play room and sensory room if needed. The house has a reasonably sized garden, and we encourage the staffing team to ensure the young person feels at home by decorating and engaging in activities with them.

As part of the compliance process, we will provide training in physical intervention, medication administration and what to do in a crisis. As well as this, you will complete and enhanced DBS and mandatory training. The ideal candidate will have experience working with complex children, have an NVQ 3 in Children and Young People and be flexible to work both days and nights as per your rota.
