AXA UK are recruiting a General Accountant to join their team on a 12-month fixed term contract. You will assist with the completion of the monthly financial reporting cycle for one or more of the AXA UK companies.
You’ll have the opportunity to develop and interact with a wide network of contacts, at the same time developing your core technical accounting skills. You will ensure complete and accurate accounting records are maintained, which enable the provision of financial information and other services for both internal and external customers of the Finance function.

What you’ll be doing:
Assisting in the production of monthly and quarterly reporting packs (under various GAAPs) analysing the balance sheets and full Profit and Loss Account for a number of AXA companies.
Assisting in the production of annual and quarterly reporting, preparing the solvency II balance sheets and other required reports.
Assisting in the accounting for the investment and property portfolios and taxation under various GAAPs.
Providing financial analysis and explanatory commentary of actual result performance against prior year, plans, and forecasts to AXA UK and AXA Group on a monthly basis.
Liaising with Group Tax for preparation of the taxation charges for actual results under UK and IFRS GAAP.Account for the gross and reinsurance technical accounts under various GAAPs including review of the elements of the result prepared by other teams.
Producing ad hoc financial information, interpretation, analysis, and support to customers, thereby enabling an improved understanding of the information provided.
Liaising with auditors to assist in external audits.
Identifying and implementing improvements to production processes (in conjunction with UK IT and the Finance Systems team) to increase efficiency.
Ensuring processes identified as in scope of IFC are compliant and the necessary documentation is accurately maintained.
