General Assistant – Cleaning and General Maintenance
CONTEXT
The employer, Park Community Arena Ltd are the exclusive operators of the newly constructed Canon Medical Arena, a 2500 capacity multi-sports and events arena, based in Attercliffe, Sheffield.

The role is available for an initial 24 hours per week but can grow into more hours for the appropriate individual.

The job is located at the new Canon Medical Arena in Attercliffe, Sheffield, which is the home of two basketball franchises, the Sheffield Sharks (Men) and the Sheffield Hatters (Women), amongst other key users. It is also a flexible events space and is host to many events ranging from boxing, netball, and Karate, plus meeting rooms and hospitality areas.

OVERVIEW
The General Assistant will be responsible for assisting the day to day program at the Canon Medical Arena with a specific focus on always keeping the venue in a clean and presentable state. In addition, the venue will require some general maintenance to equipment and furnishings and we hope the individual would have some level of practical skills to fix simple items or report them to ensure they are repaired or replaced.

The successful candidate will have strong Team Working skills, and a flexible approach to tasks to support colleagues in the venue from time-to-time, to deliver this program to the highest standard helping ensure this exciting new arena remains clean, safe, and welcoming.

The successful candidate will need to have a passion and drive to develop their skills and knowledge within this industry and we are keen to support the growth of such an individual.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• To assist the Arena on a day to day basis
• To adhere to Health & Safety Laws, Procedures and Policies
• Follow and create cleaning regimes for the entire venue.
• Follow a basic Minor Maintenance programme and record and solve issues with management support.
• Event Cover for Major Events
• EPOS Skills
• Sharks and Hatters Fixtures
• Report to the Management team on progress and challenges
• Complete daily, weekly, and relevant checks for the Arena

REMUNERATION

The role will be paid at £10.90 per hour.
