ABC Teachers are seeking a dedicated Cover Teacher to join us to work with our dynamic Secondary Schools in Derby and surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity to inspire and support students in their academic journey.
About the role
As a Cover Teacher, you will play a crucial role in maintaining continuity in the absence of regular classroom teachers. Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering pre-prepared lessons across various subjects and year groups.
- Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring a positive learning atmosphere.
- Providing support and guidance to students to facilitate their academic progress.
- Collaborating with fellow educators and school staff to uphold academic standards.

Requirements
To be considered for the role of General Cover Teacher you will:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience working in a secondary school environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to varying teaching environments.
- Ability to obtain suitable references, a valid DBS Check and hold the Right to Work in the UK (ABC Teachers do not offer sponsorship)
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
- a suitable qualification to teach i.e PGCE, with valid QTS/QTLS
