General Farm Worker

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Farm Worker to join our team. As a Farm Worker, you will be responsible for assisting with various tasks related to farm operations. This is a physically demanding role that requires working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Duties:
- Working with our dairy herd, moving animals for milking and cleaning and bedding cubicles using a tractor operated rake, and feeder wagon to fill beds with fresh bedding. Scraping will mainly be done automatically but some areas are still scraped with tractors. It would be beneficial if you have experience in handling and moving stock, calmly and safely, and general stockmanship skills to work with herdsmen, to care for the herd. This would be as part of a rota.
- General yard work, to include responsibility for bedding down young stock and cleaning out pens, using pivot steer telehandlers, and bedding using telehandlers and a straw chopper.
- Regular tractor driving to include maize and grass carting, corn carting, muck carting and slurry tanking. Modern tractors and machinery are using, with most work done in house.

Requirements:
- Previous experience working on a farm or in a similar agricultural setting is preferred
- Ability to operate tractors and machinery safely and efficiently
- Stockmanship skills to work with livestock.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform heavy lifting and manual labor.

- Knowledge of animal care practices is a plus
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Please note that all positions at our farm are paid.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £11.50-£12.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 39 per week
