Location: Slough
Salary: £35k
Responsibilities:
Assisting with the following;
Providing Air / Road / Ocean quotations to customer(s).
Negotiating ad hoc rates with suppliers.
Arranging collections and deliveries of freight with haulage companies.
Processes shipments Air / Ocean / Road.
Arranging all relevant Import / Export paperwork to activate job.
Ensuring HM Customs paperwork in order depending on mode of transport.
Dealing with customer queries and providing regular updates / POD's.
Invoice Jobs on Completed, Authorise supplier Invoices on Freight Software.
Other duties as assigned by Manager/ Supervisor to drive growth and revenue.
Required Experience:
Extensive Freight Forwarding / Logistics Experience (AOG Experience an Advantage) + BoxTop Freight Software / Sage Experience is an advantage. Strong communication skills are needed.
Education:
Educated to GCSE level, with good grades in Maths and English.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge & Skills;
Experience of HAWBs / MAWBs and IATA shipment procedures helpful.
Customs procedures experience, as well as Import and Export Experience.
Must be fluent with the use of MS Office (WORD, OUTLOOK, EXCEL), with good IT skills.
