Newquay, Cornwall About Us First opening at our permanent home in 1969, Newquay Zoo is home to over 1,000 of the world’s most endangered animals. Now part of the Wild Planet Trust, we form a key part of south-west conservation alongside Paignton Zoo. We are now looking for a General Operative to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis, working 38.75 hours per week. The Benefits - Salary of £22,321.16 per annum

The Role As a General Operative, you will undertake a variety of repair, projects and maintenance work on our Newquay Zoo site. Your duties will include: - Erecting fences
- Constructing animal equipment such as platforms or shelters
- Domestic plumbing
- Basic carpentry
- Undertaking horticultural tasks
- Cleaning public areas
- Driving zoo vehicles to collect materials from suppliers About You To be considered as a General Operative, you will need: - Experience in reactive and planned maintenance
- A basic understanding of safety systems in construction
- An understanding of the use of hand and power tools, equipment and materials on small works projects
- A full, valid driving licence The closing date for this role is 25th February 2024.
