Job description
As a General Labourer / General Operative working days (08:00am to 4:30pm, working 5 days from 6, across Monday to Saturday on rota, working x2 Saturdays per month) for this Lincolnshire based Wood Biomass processing business, you will work across all key area of the business, working as part of the Yard, Wood Chip Processing (Virgin untreated & clean Wood chip) & Manufacturing team, that turns UK sourced Wood Chip into renewable energy sources & Wood Pellets (fine grinding, milling & drying into wood pellets for fuel, animal bedding & cat litter), helping the UK to significantly reduce landfill waste & promoting a sustainable future, producing a valuable renewable alternative to finite fossil fuels.
You will be happy to work as a General Operative, supporting the business wherever is needed, within the Yard, Recycling operations & manufacturing processes, ideally from a Waste Recycling / Waste Re-purposing or Wood Machining / Forestry Products background.
This key role, will require vast amounts of manual labour (lifting, bending, working in confined spaces etc.) & general duties (sorting of waste, cleaning of the yard & factory, labouring etc.). Ideal for someone who loves the outdoors in all weathers & who may of worked in Waste or Wood Production Processing, or from a Landfill environment, or other outdoor industry sectors like Farming, Construction etc (labour intensive, manual works).
General Operative Duties:
* General duties, to support Wood Biomass / Wood Chip processing, including working in the Wood Yard, Machine Operating (occasional), Labouring for Engineers, helping with Facilities Maintenance (handyman type duties such as painting, clearing etc), Cleaning of the Yard & Factory areas, loading & unloading vehicles (hand balling or using a Forklift) acting as a Banksman to shunter or HGV drivers etc.
* Supporting the Waste Recycling Operations, wherever needed.
* Adhering to H&S.
Attributes Desired:
* Ideally experienced in Recycling, Waste processing or similar types of working environments.
* Labouring experience.
* Physical
* WAMITAB recycling / waste sector qualifications would be a distinct advantage.
* Positive driven can-do mentality, happy to adapt to any task.
