Geography Teacher

Position: GEOGRAPHY TEACHER

Location: Farnborough

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: GBP32-GBP38k DOE

Start Date: September, an earlier start date can be discussed if necessary

My client is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Geography Teacher with a love of education to join their committed Geography department.

The successful candidate will;

• Engage, enthuse, motivate and challenge pupils in order for them to excel academically
• Have relentlessly high expectations of themselves and pupils
• Have excellent subject knowledge
• Enhance the quality of teaching and learning in the Department and wider through sharing resources and good practice, lesson observation, collaborative teaching, mentoring and active participation in continuing professional studies programme
• Make a positive contribution to the efficient running of the Department, including, setting and marking examinations, attending departmental meetings and undertaking administrative and other tasks as delegated by the Curriculum Leader.
• Actively safeguard and promote the welfare of children
• Support the aims and objectives for teaching and learning
• Adhere to and promote all school policies and procedures

Person Specification

• Good level degree in a directly related subject (desirable)
• Recognised teaching qualification, such as a PGCE, or equivalent experience
• Awareness of Safeguarding requirements and good practice
• Good level of IT literacy
• Be capable of delivering inspirational and informative lessons to the full age and ability range of pupils at the school
• Be able to demonstrate a positive and authoritative rapport with pupils
• Excellent and effective classroom management skills
• Be organised and self-motivated, with a proven record for meeting targets and deadlines
