Your new role
The school require a teacher of Geography who can deliver lessons to both KS3 and KS4 students across a four-day timetable. There will be some lessons of general cover included within this, and there is also scope to add an additional day, making the position full time if required.
As a Geography teacher you would be working with groups of varying abilities, delivering pre-planned lessons for a half-term, with a view to this being extended if required. You would have PPA time built into your timetable, and opportunity to undertake CPD. The school boasts a strong humanities department with extremely supportive staff who are on hand to guide you through the school policies and procedures.
The school are ideally looking for someone who is a passionate practitioner with a"can do" attitude, comfortable with a creative approach and the ability to think on their feet.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate for this role would have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be an ECT working towards QTS
- Good computer literacy
- Confidence in delivering strong lessons to large groups
- Enthusiasm for their subject and strong subject knowledge
- Good communication, team work and organisational skills
- Experience teaching up to KS4
