Salary Scale: £30,000 to £46,000 per annum

GSL Education is in search of a Geography Teacher to fill a post at one of our client schools in Hull.
Job Summary
The role of a Geography Teacher extends beyond merely imparting knowledge about physical landscapes and human-environment interactions. It encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at fostering a comprehensive understanding of the world, its systems, and its diverse cultures.
Responsibilities:
The teacher designs and delivers lessons aligned with the national curriculum, covering topics such as physical geography, human geography, and environmental issues
They create engaging lesson plans that incorporate various teaching methods, including lectures, discussions, group activities, and multimedia presentations.
Geography teachers assess students' understanding through quizzes, tests, projects, and essays. They provide constructive feedback to help students improve their knowledge and skills.
They develop or select appropriate teaching materials, such as textbooks, maps, charts, and online resources, to support student learning.
Organizing and leading field trips to local geographical sites, such as rivers, coastlines, or urban areas, to provide hands-on learning experiences.
Geography teachers foster critical thinking skills by encouraging students to analyze geographical data, evaluate different perspectives, and develop informed opinions on global issues.
The successful candidate will:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Specialization or strong background in Geography
Enthusiasm for innovative teaching methods and interdisciplinary learning
Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Early Career Teacher (ECT) is welcome.
