Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner (Clinical Endoscopist/ Liver Nurse Specialist)
Band 6 in training increasing to Band 7 on completion of endoscopy training
Due to the expansion of the endoscopy department at the RUH in Bath, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner in a role split approximately 50:50 between work as a Clinical Endoscopist and Liver Nurse Specialist.
This busy department includes an endoscopy suite with five theatres attached to the Gastroenterology ward and a Surgical and Gastroenterology outpatient unit. It is also a bowel cancer screening centre.
The full time post (over 4 days) will include endoscopy, clinical and administrative sessions. The postholder will work closely with patients, the existing Liver Specialist Nurses and members of the multidisciplinary team to help initiate, provide and improve services in Hepatology.
They will be trained and supported by the committed and enthusiastic Hepatology and Gastroenterology team.
Desirable candidates will have experience in endoscopy and gastroenterology/ liver disease. Whilst the department does provide a supportive and nurturing environment, post holders must able to work independently and to use their initiative when necessary.

The GI Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for delivering a high quality service to potentially complex patient groups.
The post holder must work with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the provision of a quality, best value service for all service users providing a high quality, holistic, safe and supportive environment for patients undergoing investigation and treatment.
