Spiers New Technologies Inc (SNT) part of Cox’ EVBS (Electric Vehicle Battery Services) division, is the leading full-service provider of "4R" services (repair, remanufacturing, refurbishing and repurposing) for advanced battery packs used in hybrid and electric vehicles. SNT's 4R services allow vehicle OEMs to optimize the life cycle management of their battery pack inventory and maximize its value.

Role:

As a Battery Engineer at EVBS, UK site in collaboration with DHL, at their site in Rugby, you will be active on various multidisciplinary aspects on qualitative grading and application of battery components.

This includes the hardware and software development, maintenance and operating of battery testing machinery as well as entire production lines.

You will use both conventional test equipment (DMM’s, Oscilloscopes, Hi-pot testers) as well as proprietary systems. Understanding the risks and safety precautions concerning High Voltage (up to 1000V) is part of your mindset.

You are able to submit and contribute to safety protocols developed by SNT, our automotive clients and the authorities. You may be able to work independently as well as in larger global project teams.

You are willing to share your knowledge with colleagues and clients around the globe.

Skills & Experience:

• BSc level of Electronics / Mechatronics Engineering or comparable knowledge level
• Knowledge of Electricity Standards
• Experience in working on Electrical systems
• You will have in-depth understanding of current industrially relevant battery chemistries, components, materials and systems
• Understanding working practises of working with hazardous materials.
• Experience of working in a safety conscious environment and have a strong understanding of what PPE is required to work in this environment and when to use it
• Preferably knowledge on Data Acquisition Systems (for example NL Labview)
• Capability to speak and write English and available for travelling
• An inquisitive, pioneering and hands-on mentality
• Knowledge of Canbus Software (desirable)
• LEAN (desirable)
