WHAT TO EXPECT
The Validation Engineer is a key member of the Design Validation (DV) team and is responsible for development safety and certification testing as part of battery unit programme delivery.
We're currently seeking a Battery Validation Engineer who isn't afraid to push the limits – quite literally!
In this role, you'll be at the forefront of innovation, conducting abuse and shock testing on batteries. Picture this: blowing stuff up, sticking nails in batteries, and turning the unexpected into valuable insights. It's not just a job; it's an adventure.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Principally responsible for delivery of battery Safety validation testing, ensuring validation test activity is delivered on time, and to the required data quality and delivery standards
Ensure tests executed to correct procedures & operating conditions, accurately and produce high quality data
Establish, maintain and communicate accurate test plans, that clearly identify the timing and specific requirements of test facilities required
Support continuous improvement activity including creation and maintenance of JLR company standards. relevant to role (TPJLR / STJLR)
Compile accurate technical reports for DV tests as evidence for component and system sign-off and communicated clearly to all stakeholders
Ensure DV tests are conducted safely and in accordance to JLR H&S policies
Support relevant technical reviews and lead/support issue resolution through established processes and standard JLR tools (AIMS/8D)
Interface with customers of the department effectively. Lead interaction with customers and suppliers, resolving any conflicts and escalating issues for resolution as necessary
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Essential:
Experience of Battery validation test delivery including but not limited to, thermal propagation, short circuit, overcharge, over discharge and flooding
Understanding of design principles and the application of quality tools within a product engineering environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Educated to degree level or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline
Able to prioritise workload and lead issue resolution either individually or as part of a cross-functional team
Highly self-motivated and able to act on initiative
Experience and proficiency in data processing and control system software
Flexibility to work between JLR sites and external test facilities (UK driving licence)
