Are you in your mid-career and looking for a change-up in challenges?
Can you take the lead on developing the next generation of systems?
Do you want to work on the next major military aircraft programme in the UK?
Our experienced hire roles on the GCAP related programmes are ideal for people wanting to take that step up with more responsibility or try their hand at something different.
Being part of this programme will put you in influential roles to help guide and define the capabilities of tomorrow while striving to deliver the early development work of today. You'll have an important role in mentoring and supporting the next generation of engineers and scientists coming into this area at a pivotal point in the programmes lifespan. You'll be colleagues with experts, specialists and other highly capable people from across a diverse set of backgrounds and disciplines, working together to figure out the answers to our customers key problems.
Typical Work you might be involved in:
- Contribute to early concept studies investigating the application of new technology on the future platform
- Engage with stakeholders to define requirements for the new platform
- Conduct cost and functional performance trade-offs and evaluation of alternative solutions
- Design and prototype a detailed model of a system to understand observed simulated performance
- Prototype algorithms, taking into account limitations and constraints of the target hardware
- Investigate the cause of anomalies observed during integration or evaluation activities, using real trials data
- Design and conduct testing activities to prove equipment function and performance, including trials
- Dependent on experience, you may lead technical activities and initiatives, or you may mentor and coach other engineers
- Contribute to and deliver reports, presentations and proposals for customers and industry
- Actively support knowledge sharing and exploitation of good practice
What you will get:
- Support to career development on the job and off the job via your Project Teams and the Function to help your progression.
- Custom working opportunities to help suit your lifestyle and home life, flexible benefits covering a wide range of options and a variety of extra activities and support groups to join or get involved
- Diverse opportunities throughout your career with us to work on different stages of product development product types.
- Support to mentoring and professional development towards industry accreditations.
- Lead the way in our technical engagements with our partners and customers to understand what they truly need
- Develop up and coming engineers and scientists with their Systems skills and sharing your domain knowledge
- Contribute to and make key decisions that could influence the future of military air capability
- Support the successful delivery of our commitments to the business and our customers
- Develop and mature systems designs, technology insertion and research exploitation for this next generation aircraft
What we are looking for
Ideally, you will have a science-based Honours degree or equivalent experience. You will have worked in industry, or will have advanced academic research experience. We are not expecting you to have electronic warfare domain knowledge as we can provide support for that.
