Global Head of Controls Technology, Wealth and Personal Banking

The purpose of the CCO function is to enable colleagues within HSBC DBS to deliver safe and secure services to all our customers, colleagues, and the Bank itself.

In this fantastic, global, senior role, you will partner with the Global CIO for Wealth & Personal Banking (WPB) and other Risk Partners to ensure delivery of risk based, strategic outcomes for the Global Business, Global Functions (GB/GF), including informing and advising the CIOs on relevant risk and control-based issues and initiatives that impact WPB Technology. As a strategic leader within CCO Technology, you will directly support the Global WPB CIO and ExCo within HSBC

In this role, you will: 

  • Leading a team of 15 IT control managers/senior managers, be responsible for the global CCO Technology activity supporting WPB including, but not limited to: Business Applications, Risk Management, Regulatory requirements impacting jurisdictions where HSBC operates, and continuously improving efficiency, quality, and capability of your team and CCO Technology over time.
  • Effectively manage stakeholder relationships across WPB, Data, CCO, 2Lod, 3Lod, Tech and CCO communities
  • Influence and shape the development and implementation of future-fit WPB Technology risk management and regulatory frameworks.
  • Provide Exec level Management with updates on any relevant changes to policy or projects related to operational WPB Technology risk that have an impact on their area of responsibility.
  • Plan effectively around delivery constraints and optimize the plan to maximize benefits and minimize risk. Develop the plan within constraints, considering the delivery approach, key milestones and dependencies within the plan, requirements and scope, effort and resources, budgets and quality.
  • Standardize and synergize WPB Technology risk and control management processes and practices across all geographies for WPB Technology controls.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements: 

  • Strong WPB Technology leadership background with a proven track-record of managing wide range of diverse exec level stakeholders.  Negotiating skills to manage right outcomes for Technology across a diverse set of GB/GF’s, senior stakeholders, and lines of defence often with competing objectives.

  • In-depth knowledge of Incident management.

  • Extensive, detailed, knowledge of Tech controls a must. Broad understanding of Non-Financial Risk framework. Experience in performing risk and control reviews.

  • Confidently possess technical knowledge i.e., security frameworks with experience in a risk/audit or control related role.

  • Proven ability to articulate complex issues concisely and in simple language to support problem analysis with project management, team management experience, an ability to influence senior stakeholders.

 

The base working location can be London, Birmingham, Sheffield, Leeds or Bristol.
