Purpose of the Job:

Reporting to the Global Supply Chain & Logistics Director, this role will lead the global strategy and activity of developing, implementing, execution and continual improvement of the Manufacturing Engineering function within Rotork factory operations. Be the global functional leader and expert of process standardisation and continuous improvement of Manufacturing Engineering/Systems and the integration of best practice methodologies across the Group.

As part of the Rotork ERP transformation programme, this role is required to define the system and process requirements for all sites to support this implementation and to ensure, working in conjunction with the ERP transformation team, that all Manufacturing Systems requirements are met prior to any go live. Development and deployment of a Global Manufacturing engineering strategy and standards to optimise costs and efficiency whilst supporting market leading process design.

Collaboration with Global Supply Chain, Procurement functions and all Factory Engineering Groups to ensure optimal solutions and process standardisation is reached.

Key Responsibilities and Outcomes:

  • Design and Implement a Strategy for operational system routings & timings.
  • Support the implementation of standard timing and enable standard costing implementation for Rotork.
  • Bill Of Material & Configurator strategy & deployment
  • Implement and oversee a single “Engineer to Order” process for all Rotork Manufacturing sites.
  • Be the single point contact for RDLP projects
  • Evolution and development of the RDLP Process control within Operational areas, ensuring all new product implementation meets requirements for Operational execution.
  • Build and develop the function of Manufacturing Engineering across all Rotork entities bringing best practice and leading / animating the function.
  • Lead competency analysis and development for the global Manufacturing Engineering function and develop a global community.
  • Build a management operating system for global Manufacturing Engineering to drive day-to-day operations and detect and manage abnormalities whilst reporting efficiencies and savings.
  • Agree, Maintain and Report on the local and group level Performance Metrics.
  • Be the subject matter expert on Manufacturing Engineering for the global ERP system development to maximise efficiency and visibility of Performance across the Business.
Qualifications

Essential

  • Relevant honours / Master’s degree
  • 5 years of manufacturing experience
  • ERP system development/deployment experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding and exposure to industry leading manufacturing engineering solutions
  • Strong and composed communicator, capable or leading a global function
  • Highly capable of performing own data analytics

Desirable

  • Formal continuous improvement training (Lean, 6-sigma)
  • Experience of D365
  • Highly IT competent (Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
  • Pragmatic, straightforward and results/action oriented
