Job description
We are recruiting for a Global Network Programme Manager at the British Heart Foundation (BHF). This is a new role coordinating the Global Cardiovascular Research Funders Forum (GCRFF).
The GCRFF is an international c-suite collaborative, steering joint funding initiatives and closer co-operation between the 12 largest dedicated funders of cardiovascular research in the world.
The Global Network Programme Manager will coordinate international events, regular communications, governance, and financial matters, and work closely with the Chair and Deputy Chair to determine meeting agendas and the coordination of papers and presentations.
Working arrangements
Please note this is a 2-year fixed term contract.
This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.
At the BHF we believe in the power of being together, so our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office, at least one day each week, on average. The use of our office spaces is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.
Need more help balancing your work and home life? Talk to us about what flexibility is available at the application or interview stage.
In addition to the above, this role involves some international travel and occasional hours outside standard office hours to facilitate international conference calls.
About you
As our ideal candidate, you have a passion for global collaborations tackling global problems. You have excellent diplomatic and interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with internal colleagues and international partners. You can interact with constituents and stakeholders at the highest levels in a professional and appropriate manner.
With an understanding and awareness of medical research and governance along with expertise in addressing logistics challenges in the management of international partnerships and/or associations, you bring experience of operating and building relationships/partnerships in an international setting and of working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
An adaptable fast learner, you can work under your own initiative and have confidence in strategic planning, monitoring, and reporting.
With meticulous organisation, coordination and time-management, and an ability to maintain oversight of and provide direction for a complex cross-organisational portfolio of activities, you bring solid experience of coordinating large and complex programmes of activity.
