Goods in and Returns Manager

Gi Group are excited to be working with a family run Technology company based in Basford, Nottingham who are recruiting for a Goods in and Returns manager due to planned growth of the business.
The Role
As a Goods in and Returns manager you will play a crucial role in efficiently managing the goods receiving process, handling returns from customers, and ensuring the smooth flow of products in and out of the organisation. This physically demanding part-time position requires hands-on involvement, attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to work within a specified schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Goods In:
1. Receive all incoming deliveries and outgoing collections during scheduled work hours.
2. Verify and sign for received goods, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
3. Check and document goods, booking them into the system and scanning serial numbers for serialised tracking.
4. Maintain detailed records of all goods received and dispatched.
5. Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure seamless coordination of goods movements.
Returns
1. Handle returned items from customers, whether faulty or unwanted.
2. Inspect returned items to ensure they match customer descriptions and meet quality standards.
3. Book returned Goods into the system and update relevant records promptly.
4. Carry out exchanges, returns, or replacements in accordance with company policies.
5. At the end of each week, process used items that are not faulty, clean them, and categorise as B Stock for resale at a reduced price.
6. Implement strategies to reduce overall returns and improve efficiency in the returns process.
Target Responsibilities
1. Achieve set targets for efficacy turnaround speed in processing returns.
2. Contribute to reducing the overall number of returns through proactive measures.
Manufacturer Communication
1. Responsible for sending goods back to manufacturers when required.
2. Track the progress of repairs or credit notes from manufacturers.
Qualifications and Experience
1. Previous experience in a similar hands-on role, preferably in a retail or logistics environment.
2. Familiarity with inventory management systems and processes.
3. Strong organisational and time-management skills.
4. Attention to detail and accuracy in handling goods and processing returns.
5. Effective communication skills for collaboration with various departments.
6. Ability to work independently within the defined schedule.
Work Schedule
Monday to Friday 9am to 3pm
Saturday, 10 am to 12pm
Total 32 hours
