SalaryREED Specialist Recruitment are excited to offer an opportunity for a Governance and Assurance Manager to join a leading housing association that is dedicated to providing homes and services that help people thrive. This role is integral to ensuring the effectiveness of governance, compliance, regulatory, and Assurance processes within the organisation. The successful candidate will manage the Board and committees, oversee internal audits, ensure statutory compliance, and support the Chief Executive and Senior Leadership Team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage governance structures, ensuring compliance with codes of governance, regulation, and legislation.
• Continually review and improve governance arrangements to meet current and future requirements.
• Provide high-quality servicing of the Board and its committees, including agenda preparation, minute-taking, and action point follow-up.
• Offer advice and guidance on governance issues to the Chair, Board, committee members, and colleagues.
• Coordinate and submit regulatory reports and returns in a timely manner.
• Update governance portal with meeting papers, policies, and other relevant information.
• Lead in fulfilling corporate compliance requirements, including data protection and equality and diversity.
• Prepare and distribute reports to assist in effective business service delivery.
• Provide executive support to the Chief Executive and Senior Leadership Team, including diary management and project work.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Knowledge of governance, regulation, compliance, and Assurance in a regulated sector, supported by relevant qualifications or substantial work experience.
• Experience in a governance-related role within a regulated environment.
• Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders on governance matters.
• Proficient in strategic planning, project management, and organisational reporting.
• Advanced planning skills and up-to-date knowledge of governance best practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in IT, particularly MS 365/Office and ideally SharePoint.
• Knowledge of GDPR and the Data Protection Act.
• Full driver’s licence and access to own car for occasional travel.
