Join the Novitas team at Close Brothers, where you will manage complaints (including thematic reviews) and coordinate responses to Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs).
You will support first-line risk, ensuring standard operating procedures are in place, aligned to group policy and reviewed regularly. Monitoring incidents and controls and managing data ownership (including data retention).
In addition, you will be required to produce succinct data analysis in monthly reports and ad hoc papers for senior stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Risks and Controls
- Manage the investigation and responses to complaints.
- Coordinate responses to DSARs and requests for information.
- Support first-line risk, control and financial crime assessment.
- Maintain the Novitas risk register.
- Support thematic reviews of incidents and complaints.
- Produce reporting on key risk indicators and complaint trends.
Data Protection
- Complete periodic reviews of physical and electronic data, ensuring compliance with group policy on data standards and retention procedures.
- Expand and maintain the Information Asset Register to identify the primary source of customer data.
- Maintain robust controls on the retention and destruction of information assets.
- Perform information security policy reviews, gap analysis, risk assessments, and control selection to minimise business risk.
- Complete regular system access reviews.
Documentation
- Maintain documentation suite, ensuring accurate versioning and documentation control is in place.
- Ensure documentation suite is regularly reviewed with control functions and external legal counsel, where appropriate, to ensure compliance with regulations.
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:
- You have experience managing complaints in a regulated environment.
- You have an understanding of risk and control frameworks.
- You have experience producing monthly MI / packs.
- You possess excellent communication skills – both verbal & written.
- You have good analytical and problem-solving skills – able to effectively interrogate and summarise data.
- You have strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills
- You possess excellent time management skills, with an ability to meet challenging deadlines.
- You have a broad understanding of FCA regulations and the Financial Ombudsman Service.
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU:
- Have a broad understanding of the litigation finance market and products.
- Have experience in data protection.
- Have experience delivering training to front line staff.
