Governance Lawyer

We are currently partnering with a Local Council based in Surrey, who are recruiting for a Governance Lawyer to join their growing team on a temporary basis.
This is a full-time position due to start immediately and the rate is negotiable dependent upon experience.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Advising on constitutional and internal governance matters, information governance matters, Members' Code of Conduct complaints and RIPA
• Identifying and managing material risks ensuring regular assessment and review
• Providing legal advice on external matters that effect the business

Experience required:

• Experience required in a Local Government Setting
• Extensive experience working in a similar capacity  

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

• Providing legal advice
• Complex diary management
• Risk management

• 35 hours per week
• Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
