The Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) champions the power of planning in creating prosperous places and vibrant communities. We represent over 27,000 members worldwide, supporting them throughout their careers. We shape planning policy, raise professional standards and are the only body in the UK to confer Chartered status to planners, the highest professional qualification.
In this role you will provide strategic guidance on the future development of governance activities and will manage all matters relating to the constitutional processes and governance of the RTPI. A Chartered Governance professional, you will organise member elections and co-ordinate appointments to committees and panels as well as act as Secretary to the Board of Trustees. Assisted by a Governance Officer, you will arrange and co-ordinate Board and General Assembly meetings, prepare papers and agendas and support effective induction programmes for new Trustees and General Assembly members.
With experience of working in the membership or charitable sectors, you will have a detailed understanding of organisational governance and will have a professional Chartered Governance Institute (ICSA) qualification. Experience of managing a secretariat function is essential and experience of co-ordinating elections and budget management is desirable.
