Governance Officer

Salary from £40,229 to £48,456 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £52,095 pa inclusive of London allowance

The Governance Services Team sits within the Secretary’s Division and is responsible for the leadership and delivery of the School’s governance structures and processes, including: secretarial responsibility for Council, other senior corporate governance committees and Academic Board; ensuring effective arrangements; providing advice and guidance; maintaining key records, and; ensuring compliance with constitutional, legal and regulatory requirements. The team is also responsible for the ongoing strategic development, embedding and oversight of an ethical culture within the School.

The Governance Officer will primarily lead/support the delivery of governance and ethics-related activities/projects, including being secretary to/ supporting delivery of senior School committees. The role holder should be proactive and willing to take significant ownership and responsibility for their working agenda and shaping their role. The position offers an excellent career development opportunity for the role holder.

Candidates should be proactive, have experience of servicing committees, have strong organisational skills and attention to detail. They should have excellent written and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with a wide range of individuals, together with a user focus and an overall objective to ensure high quality delivery.
