Job description

Government Affairs Specialist 

The role of Agratas’ Government Affairs team is to establish, promote and protect our corporate brand by influencing a range of key stakeholders across the UK government and political system. The role would suit a self-motivated, delivery-focused candidate, who thrives working in a fast-paced environment, and with a keen interest in the automotive, energy and industrial sectors. 

The Government Affairs Specialist will be responsible for partnering with the business to deliver holistic engagement activities that support the delivery of Agratas’ strategy, growth and impact. Occasional travel across the UK will be required. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Coordinate and support engagement between the company and political stakeholders whilst representing the organisation externally at meetings and events - including national and local government stakeholders and parliamentarians. 

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of key stakeholders across the political landscape. 

  • Support the development and delivery of an engagement strategy that drives Agratas’ company-wide strategy, purpose and mission. 

  • Manage an updated database of all relevant political stakeholders with emphasis on location with Agratas’ presence. 

  • Identify and brief internally on public funding opportunities resulting from government initiatives. 

Essential Experience 

  • Excellent communication, writing, and editorial skills 

  • Experience in a government or public affairs role 

  • Sound understanding of political decision-making, parliamentary processes and government workings. 

  • Demonstrable ability to work with complex information and produce communications which are relevant and comprehendible for all levels. 

  • Strong organisation skills, with an ability to prioritise workloads to meet tight and competing deadlines.
