Business graduate programme
Our 18-month business graduate programme is a brilliant opportunity to gain experience in the areas of business you’re most passionate about.
You’ll work at our Head office in Skipton, North Yorkshire, which is home to our varied business support teams.
In 18-months you’ll complete three 6-month rotations in different departments of your choice, spending your time getting to grips with the role and taking on real responsibilities.
Business areas – we call them our support teams – you could work in include:
- Procurement (purchasing and supply chain)
- Logistics
- Fleet Management
- Internal Plant
- Finance
- IT
- Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ)
- Bidding and estimating
- Business Development
- Communications and media
- Excellence and digital delivery
- Sustainability (carbon and social outcomes)
After successfully completing the programme, you’ll take on a full-time role in one of the business areas you’ve worked in.
What you’ll do:
Your role and responsibilities will vary depending on the departments you choose, but wherever you work, you’ll become a core member of the team, be given real responsibilities and ownership for tasks, and learn lots along the way!
What you’ll bring:

- Business management
- Marketing
- Finance or accounts
- Logistics and supply chain management

- Quantity surveying
Life in business support is fast paced. You’ll be providing critical support to our project teams and colleagues across the business to make sure we deliver great outcomes for our clients.
You’ll need to be:
- Organised with good attention to detail
- A great problem solver and a quick thinker
- A great communicator and able to build relationships at all levels
- Able to work in a busy environment which means multitasking, prioritising and effective time management
- Hardworking and a team player with a positive can-do attribute

As a graduate, you’ll be enrolled onto our bespoke Early Careers Development Programme, which is designed to enhance your work skills, expand your network, and enrich your experience. With a mixture of face-to-face and online sessions, you’ll learn and develop a variety of skills to thrive in your career.
To support you along the way, you’ll be assigned a director mentor who will provide guidance, knowledge, and support throughout the programme.
