The Role
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference? Join our team and contribute to the future of fusion energy. As a Graduate Data Acquisition Engineer, you will play a pivotal role within the Plasma Control and Sensors Unit, collaborating with scientists and engineers across the organisation on to support the Data Acquisition systems used on MAST-U and software development for diagnostics.
This role involves contributing to a wide variety of software development projects, Data Acquisition hardware design and development under the supervision of more experienced members of the team. Projects and activities will be structured to build up the experience and knowledge needed while considering organisational needs and the individual’s career.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Develop and improve software for diagnostic control and Data Acquisition.
- Develop and improve network-based Data Acquisition systems.
- Interact and support the development of data servers and processing systems.
- Work with scientists and engineers to understand their Data Acquisition and control requirements.
- Provide help and support to scientists and engineers that use the group’s systems.
- Research and evaluate the applicability of new technologies for the team.
- Implement and support software and data infrastructure activities within the Plasma Control and Sensors Unit
