Graduate Human Factors Consultant
Key locations: Warrington, Aberdeen
Enthusiastic and confident Human Factors or ergonomics graduate required for expanding risk management consultancy.

Risktec has a number of vacancies across the company and we are looking for a motivated graduate to support our Human Factors specialists in Warrington or Aberdeen. Our current opportunities span a variety of industries, but with a focus on oil and gas (offshore and onshore), carbon capture and storage, chemical manufacturing, hydrogen generation and distribution, onshore and offshore wind energy, and other industries subject to major accident regulations (e.g. COMAH).
Role Description
You will be expected to work effectively and collaboratively with colleagues on multiple projects and will develop a good understanding of the technical, engineering and operational issues fundamental to safety and risk management, with a focus on Human Factors.
There may be opportunities for travel, either with clients or to other Risktec offices across the UK and in the Netherlands, Dubai, Muscat, Houston and Calgary, and also opportunities to work offshore.
Key Responsibilities:
• Under the guidance of the relevant Technical Leads/Project Managers, deliver Human Factors consultancy services to time, budget and quality. These services may include:
o Human Factors Integration / Human Factors Engineering support to design and engineering projects
o Safety Critical Task Analysis
o Quantitative Human Reliability Assessment / Human Error Analysis
o Safety Culture and Competence Management
o HAZID / HAZOP
o Layout reviews / anthropometric assessment / user trials / validation and verification
o HMI design and assessment
• Support bid development;
• Demonstrate willingness to gain experience and develop as a consultant;
• Set high personal standards;
• Take personal responsibility for your own professional development, supported by your Team Leader and the company s Professional Development Review (PDR) process;
• Adhere to Quality Assurance (QA) procedures.
Key skills required include:
• Work planning and organisation, prioritisation of tasks based on business and client needs;
• Listening and communicating clearly;
• Produce high quality written work (e.g. technical reports);
• Use of standard software tools (e.g. MS Office).

Interview Process
We welcome applicants at this time who are graduating in either Spring 2024 or Autumn 2024. The interview will consist of an introduction to Risktec Solutions, a short technical presentation by the interviewee, assessment questions and a general discussion.
