Graduate Land Services Project Technician (Temporary – 6 Months) Working in the Land Services team within Environment & Place, to maintain the Council’s greenspace and street scene. You will work within a team that delivers aspects of the service including grounds maintenance, street cleansing, cemeteries, greenspace and public play areas for a variety of outdoor spaces across the Stirling area ensuring the Council’s public spaces are safe and accessible for all members of the public. The Graduate Land Services Project Technician (Temporary) will support the team within the Land Services section of Environment & Place. You will be responsible for assisting the Land Services function to deliver a professional, effective and efficient service to the Council by providing an informative and supportive role. Researching and surveying land maintained by the Council, recording details on ArcGIS, exploring titles deeds, identifying land ownership and maintenance responsibilities, communicating with landowners/communities, reviewing/revising maintenance routes and supporting the cemeteries team in GIS related projects. The successful candidate will have a tremendous opportunity to work within an operational service team to make a difference by contributing to, and improving the services we deliver. Our parks and varied open spaces include, play areas, skate parks, sports pitches, countryside woodlands and cemeteries. All of which are enjoyed by both residents and the large number of tourists to the City and Stirling Council area.Requirements
Educated to degree level in GIS, Geography or related discipline and ideally with relevant previous experience, you will be an enthusiastic, committed and proactive individual with energy, ambition and ideas to take on a key support role within Land Services operations. You will have a level of experience and knowledge of GIS systems. You will have an ability to work to deadlines and manage time effectively. As an effective communicator and self-motivator with the ability to deliver a business excellence approach to support the requirement associated with Land Services maintenance activities applicable across the Stirling Council open space and street scene estate.
