Graduate Physiology Research Assistant
Job Location: Birmingham
Job Salary: £22,000 plus overtime pay when necessary

We are currently working with a leading healthcare diagnostic provider with clinics in London and Manchester, who specialise in testing unresolved health problems. They offer a comprehensive range of tests for their patients within their speciality area. This role will provide a structured and unique work environment which combines practical, technical and research skills with patient facing contact.
They are looking for graduates from a range of different backgrounds, who may have had knowledge or an interest in gastrointestinal disorders and a career in a clinical setting.
The role will be clinical based assisting with both upper and lower GI physiology clinics with a view to putting the trainee through a formal qualification to become a qualified physiologist. This is a client facing role and will involve assisting and eventually performing medical procedures. There is support, training, and guidance throughout the training process.
Job Responsibilities:
Arranging and performing clinical tests for patients
Assisting clinical scientists and physiologists with performing patient studies
Assisting with clinical trials and research studies
Maintaining clinical stock and research supplies
Completing clinical audits to contribute towards clinical practice for CQC
Data entry and typical laboratory maintenanceJob Requirements:
Essential
A 2:1 or above degree (or predicted) in a Life Science, Physiology or Biomedical field.
Strong organisation and time management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Flexibility to travel when needed (a couple of times a month, all expenses covered)Desirable but not essential
Experience in a healthcare or medical setting
Knowledge of Gastrointestinal Physiology and various related disorders is desirable
