Graduate Project Engineer (Brandlesholme)
- Provide Project level management of projects and team members as assigned by the Engineering Manager / Engineering Director
- Manage both internal and external resources as employed on assigned projects
- Understand and learn about the level of responsibility for Cost, Programme and Quality of assigned projects reporting to Engineering Manager
- Liaise with the Client / Client’s Engineers / all other Departments / Group Companies.
- Provide management of the engineering programme (Pre & Operational Engineering in terms of both Design and Detailing) including timely issue of calculations and drawings and progress through the approval process, if appropriate
- Coordinate the Contract Phasing, and Drawing Range Allocation in consultation with Projects & Construction
- Prepare and distribute Drawing 001, which is the primary means of disseminating Project requirements to all Engineering resources to be utilised within the Project
- Coordinate the preparation and issue of Material Prelim Lists
- Coordinate Bought Out Items as requested by the PM. Arrange for preparation of lists, drawings and schedules as appropriate and to then ensure these are delivered within the required timescale.
- Process TQ’s / RFI’s / ITQ’s as necessary, checking and filtering before forwarding on to Main Client / Client’s Engineer and releasing replies to Pre & Operational Engineering Teams.
- Coordinate Variations as directed by the Project Manager and then to pass on to Pre & Operational Engineering Teams as appropriate
- Co-ordinate with Fabrication shops and / or Paint / Distribution centres.
- Complete and unequivocal implementation of all internal documents such as Technical Guidance Notes, Work Instructions and Quality Management Systems, and also compliance with industry standards such as the NSSS.
- Attendance of Site / Client Meetings as required.
- BTEC HNC In Civil or Mechanical Engineering minimum.
- Degree in Civil, Mechanical or Structural Engineering preferred.
- Post Graduate qualifications in Civil or Mechanical Engineering not essential
- Ability to work consistently and accurately, to deadlines, to meet the demands of a manufacturing business
- Be the focal point of all aspects of the engineering process on a project
- Excellent Engineering judgement
- Proactive and methodical approach to problem solving
- Good interpersonal & communications skills
