As Project Engineer you will be responsible for planning and implementing Mechanical Engineering Projects across 2 Chemical Manufacturing sites. Working with the Senior Management team you will be responsible for generating project proposals, establishing project goals and delivering projects within budget and time constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all phases of various projects through Engineering Design, Procurement, Planning and installation
- Create designs to solve specific issues, including the creation of equipment specifications
- Develop Project plans including overall requirements, costs and timescales for work
- Identify, plan and manage required resources, including external contractors
- Risk identification and mitigation. Ensuring project delivery within agreed time and cost deliverables
- Identify and justify Project Change requests, creating and / or updating engineering drawings as required and ensuring the project plan is amended appropriately
- Manage and Report against project schedule to internal and external stakeholders and Senior Management
- Contribute to the verification and sign-off of designs
- Actively participate in continuous improvement activities
- Ensure compliance with appropriate and relevant codes, policies, practices, specifications and performance standards
Key Experience Requirements:
Qualified to Degree level in an appropriate discipline such as Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering
Additional formal qualifications within project management such as Prince2 or APM would be highly desirable
A minimum of 5 years’ relevant project management experience gained within a Chemical Manufacturing environment, ideally within a Lower or Upper Tier COMAH environment
Technically proficient in Mechanical Design and Maintenance of equipment including an in-depth understanding and knowledge of Agitators, Reactors and Pumps
Working knowledge of Management Systems, including Permit-to-Work, Management of Change and Lockout-Tagout
Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience and working knowledge of Plant Maintenance Systems would be highly desirable
