  • Suffolk Graduate Partnership - (Suffolk County Council, East Suffolk Council, West Suffolk Council and Babergh/Mid Suffolk District Council)
  • £25,000 in year 1 (rising to £26,500 in year 2 on successfully meeting performance-related criteria)
  • 37 hours per week

Job Details

A fantastic opportunity to join the Suffolk Public Sector Graduate Scheme (Suffolk County Council, East Suffolk Council, West Suffolk Council and Babergh/Mid Suffolk District Council) as a Graduate Project Officer, working from various locations across Suffolk including Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds, Woodbridge, Lowestoft, and Mildenhall.

Bringing together a range of public sector organisations, the Suffolk Public Sector Graduate Scheme is aimed at ambitious graduates willing to work hard and contribute to the important work we deliver across Suffolk.

You will need

To join us, you’ll need at least a 2.2 degree in any subject, ideally, you will have completed your degree within 2 years of summer 2024. You’ll need to be prepared to challenge yourself and work hard to deliver real results for the organisations you work with.

We will offer you

Over the two-year programme, you’ll gain a deep understanding of how the public sector works via stimulating and challenging placements as well as taking part in additional learning opportunities.

  • as part of the role, you will complete an associate project management apprenticeship
  • you will gain useful skills by attending regular training opportunities to find out more about public sector work
  • a joined-up public sector experience undertaking two 12-month placements, across two organisations participating in the scheme
  • a manager for each placement that you undertake as well as a senior-level mentor from within your host organisation to support you throughout the programme.

The scheme is focused on developing a pipeline of talent for future roles across the Suffolk system who will go on to lead successful careers supporting the citizens of Suffolk. There’s never been a more exciting and challenging time to be part of the public sector.
