As a Graduate TA you will play a pivotal role in supporting children with a variety of needs, working closely with students and their families, with a team of dedicated professionals encouraging progression to create a supportive and engaging environment for students. You will need to be a graduate teaching assistant dedicated to the development of your personal and academic growth.
Your responsibilities as a graduate TA:
- Engage in lessons with SEND students, ensuring their progress with a positive learning experience.
- Nurture a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages mental wellbeing and academic progression.
- Deliver a range of teaching techniques and resources to enhance students understanding.
- Utilise assessments effectively to monitor students' progress, identify areas for improvement, and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with other members of the school community, including SENCOs, support staff, and parents/guardians, to create a support system for students.
- Implement behaviour management strategies and techniques to address challenging behaviours highlighting positive reward systems.
- Maintain accurate records of students' achievements, attendance, and behaviour, and provide reports as required.
- A passion for developing within the world of teaching assistant.
Requirements as a Graduate TA:
- Ideally have experience working with students with SEND needs or in a similar SEN environment.
- A recent GRADUATE with interest as a Graduate TA.
- A passion to teach and nurture SEND need children.
- Knowledge of effective SEN teaching strategies and interventions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in high-stress situations.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and open to new opportunities.
