This is a new role, tasked to develop and deliver the charity’s fundraising strategy through a range of activities, focusing specifically on:
- Trusts and Foundations (ranging £500 - £50,000 p.a.)
- Individual Giving (one-off and regular gifts up to £999, including crowd-funders)
- Major Donors (£1,000+, including syndicates)
The post can be offered on a full time and permanent basis. Equally, if you feel you have the skills and drive to undertake the role and would prefer to work on a fixed-term and/or freelance basis, we are open to discussing such arrangements with the right candidate.
There has never been a better time to engage with Birmingham Opera Company as a fundraiser or indeed as a donor. Over the last five years, Birmingham Opera Company has implemented a new fundraising programme, successfully securing income from several major Trusts and Foundations. Now, with our ambitious new programme of work - which we see as the building blocks for an even more ambitious future - we want to appoint a professional fundraiser to help us develop and implement a formal fundraising strategy over the coming years.
The Development Manager will lead on and take responsibility for fundraising from Trusts and Foundations, for Individual Giving and Major Donors, reporting directly into the General Director, working closely with the Trustees.
As a small, ambitious organisation with a track record of producing groundbreaking work, Birmingham Opera Company offers all its staff with extensive opportunities to be at the heart of creating exciting live work. The working culture is informal and fast-paced, with the expectation that staff members take responsibility for their areas of work, while being supported by a friendly, close-knit team.
Closing date: 6pm on Sunday 28th January 2024
