Our client is an established online, open-access publisher of two peer reviewed digital publications, addressing key scientific, regulatory, business and manufacturing challenges and advances through publication of articles, infographics, videos, podcasts and an extensive webinar programme.
Job Description:
An in-house Graphic Designer to work across the business, creating compelling illustrations and designs that align with the brand. The Graphic Designer will be responsible for design requirements across all business departments from conception to delivery across social media, email newsletters, website imagery, marketing collateral and content promotion.
Responsibilities:
- Create visually appealing and impactful materials, using your creative eye and technical scientific knowledge.
- Work with the Editorial team to create images to showcase website content that aligns with brand and editorial vision.
- Create all webinar visuals for the promotion of the webinars. This will involve research into and knowledge of the subject area to accurately reflect the webinar topic and to align with marketing goals.
- Design and illustrate the cover artwork for up to 40 journal issues per year, translating the issue focus into an eye-catching design that can be used to promote that issue and all its contents to readers - both via email marketing and through the website.
- Supporting the creation of complex scientific infographics as per client requirements - including researching the subject matter, sketching out wireframes, incorporating client feedback into revisions and developing the infographic.
- Creation of scientific images for journal articles, ensuring scientific accuracy is retained and in-house design style is applied consistently.
- Branding and creation of company literature, documents and forms
- Cross department collaboration with input into all business design needs
Essential skills and experience:
- A passion for science and science communication - ideally with a BSc in a relevant field, or experience working in a related field.
- Graphic design, illustration or artworking experience.
- Be proficient in using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- A creative eye and ability to enhance content to make it visually appealing.
- Strong competency in PowerPoint and slide design.
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Good communication skills and ability to take feedback well.
- The ability to work across a number of projects at one time and change priority as requirements change.
