Stoke by Nayland Resort is seeking an experienced Greenkeeper to join our team on a full-time basis.
SbN is home to two 18-hole championship golf courses – the Gainsborough course measures over 7,000 yards and regularly hosts prestigious PGA tournaments, whilst the Constable course is very popular with hotel residents, families and members alike. There is also a large driving range, extensive practice facilities and a state-of-the-art golf simulator.
Working as part of the greenkeeping team, the successful candidate will report to the Head Greenkeeper & Course Manager. You will be expected to work Monday to Friday, with weekend work. What You’ll Get Up To:
- To work within the team to maintain the golf course to a high standard as expected by the members and guests of Stoke by Nayland Golf Club.
- To assist in ensuring the course is properly laid out, prepared and maintained to the required standard for members and guests of the Club.
- Work with the greenkeeping team to assist in all aspects of turf and golf course maintenance, including mowing and irrigation.
- To assist in the maintenance of bunkers and course furniture.
- Operate machinery for specific tasks while complying with standard operating procedures to meet Health & Safety regulations.
- To comply with any reasonable instruction issued by your Manager.
- Undertake all operations in a safe and environmentally sustainable manner.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum of 2 years of greenkeeping experience.
- Minimum of Level 2 qualification in greenkeeping.
- Pesticide spraying licence PA1, PA2, PA6 & Chainsaw certification desirable, but not essential.
- Good knowledge of golf course maintenance practices.
- Practical skills for driving and operating machinery.
- Able to establish and maintain good working relationships with others.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Enthusiastic and punctual.
- Positive attitude with good communication skills.
- Good attention to detail.
- A desire to learn and develop within the role.
- Full driving license.
